Something’s gone wrong. Your cross-country flight was going smoothly but now something’s gone wrong.
First, the whine of the jets changed ever so slightly.
A few moments after that, there was a small huddle meeting of the flight attendants by the cockpit door with the first officer.
Now the captain is just finishing a brief message via the intercom stating there’s been a malfunction with the aircraft and the cabin pressure is dropping significantly… and rapidly. He has assured you and the 287 other passengers on your Airbus A330 that everything possible is being done to fix the problem but as a precautionary measure, oxygen masks are to used by everyone aboard.
At that precise moment, all across the airplane, the masks drop from the overhead compartments.
As you were told in the pre-flight emergency procedures speech, you know you are to tend to yourself before helping anyone else (kids, seniors, disabled, etc.). This is for good reason and the principle applies to other areas of life, specifically that of personal development:
You can’t help others grow and develop unless you are first growing and developing yourself.
This won’t “just” happen; do you have a plan in place for your growth and development?
