In Part 1 of this post (last week) I introduced the process of selecting a “personal study theme” which is essentially choosing to focus for an entire calendar year on one area of my life, particularly in my reading plan. (Yes, I have a “reading plan.” This is one of those areas where when I fail to plan, I’m really planning to fail. I need to map out my month, quarter and year when it comes to my reading or it just doesn’t happen. You?)

Each calendar year I choose a “personal study theme” to focus on, particularly in the reading I do. Basically this means that I identify an area of my life where I most need to change and much of what I read about is then centred around that one theme for the entire year.

The idea is to better myself in certain areas of my life that I know I need improvement and focusing on one area at a time allows for more effective and long term change in that area. Continue Reading…
